Thank you for trying out the Kitymail evaluation program.
You are free to use this version for as long as you live.
I now need to anoy you somehow so you will think about registering Kitymail. I know, I think I will delay starting the program for 30 seconds plus
10 sec. for each month it's been since you picked up the last demo key
If that seens too long, Get a new key from Someplace to Start BBS.
Or better still, Regester this program.
About to delay 2970 sec.
Thats because your key is 25 years and -6 months old. 2970..........2960..........2950..........2940..........2930..........

Oh My! Who wrote that program?
According to him 25 years and 6 months equates to a 2970 seconds unregistered delay.
According to him 25 years and 6 months equates to a 2970 seconds unregistered delay.
no, that is incorrect... that's not "according to him"... that's a
defect in the program from using too small a variable type to store
the number of seconds in... effectively what you are seeing is modulo arithmetic also known as rollover where the counter rolls over to the lowest end of the range when the value exceeds the maximum value...

The jerk knew what he was doing.
He says so himself in the nagware splash screen:
His short-sightedness is confirmed in the documentation:
Newer version of the KITYMAIL key file will be available on the
"Someplace to Start" BBS and will be distributed freely to other
BBS's.
He just wants people to call his BBS to artificially inflate his ego.
How long would it take hell to freeze over ?

I THINK he meant what OS do you run WINServer under?
On 15 Mar 2021, Robert Wolfe said the following...
I THINK he meant what OS do you run WINServer under?
No... I thought I made fatal error where I wrote for hours not truly understanding what she was running as an OS... Nick Andre chimed in to say D'Bridge can still be run on a XT with 640K of RAM...
So, apparently whatever she does she'll be good to go with DB as her mailer.

She had been talking about WV4 for a bit.... She has been looking at DOS platforms... and I just wanted to ask a few more questions ... But it is too
bad that there isn't any quick fixes to get mail in and out of WINServer wit
out putting up the money for PXW...

I THINK he meant what OS do you run WINServer under?
Marceline... Quick question...
What is your OS??
I run a few:
I made an assumption you had something modern... and most of what I
told you I assumed you had something reasonably current... and Not DOS
5 or something.
Pre-2000 software offers a more accurate and authentic experience.
DOS 5.0 runs fine in a virtual machine.
He just wants people to call his BBS to artificially inflate his ego.
Or get the next version.
But sadly bbses started to fade out around that time.
Might be easier to just use some of that 1400 from the US Government
to buy a PXW licence from the Santronics people.
Is Missing an OS/2, eComStation or ArcaOS. :-)
there's no need for name calling, really...
He says so himself in the nagware splash screen:
there's nothing wrong with that... many programmers did similar and
still do, today...

for some reason, you seem to have missed the last part of that
sentence... "will be distributed to other BBS's[sic]"...
in any case, if the software doesn't meet your needs, don't use it... complaining won't change anything...

Because I only had OS/2 Warp 4 installed on a 486DX2-66 for less than
1 week. I was unimpressed with the lack of a simple Windows/File explorer, and navigating folders via menu dropdowns was too weird.

you are mixing up causality and correlation... the above was not done because you complained... it was done because you wanted/needed to
change it... two separate and distinct things...
