    I have maybe a ridiculous suggestion / question / request for a feature ...

D'Bridge always handled freqqing perfectly in times of PSTN but, I assume, has no sollution when the FRQ arrives via binkd.

If I've got that right, is there a way that D'Bridge would put the freqqed file(s) in a base-36 zipped archive with an extention of FRQ for example and put it in the QUEUE? Or a yet to be defined DBFRQ-directory or so and leave it there for the system to process it?

Binkd will handle file requests with the help of an SRIF helper.

A simple one I know of for windows and linux is FREQ-U and there are others. This is handled when binkd receives a *.REQ file. It may or may not need any changes to D'Bridge to work.

I don't think so. I merely wondered as people from the Netherlands are famous for explaining what we already know ... 8-) 8-)

Enjoy Sunday, it's still early overthere...

I already started working on this awhile ago; a completely integrated Freq handler for the BinKD subsystem. It will automatically manage all of this.

But I am working now what amounts to be 2, 3 jobs and my freetime is becoming more limited. No guarantees when this will be done.

If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. The world keeps turning.

I could switch to one or the other freq-processor but they don't handle freqs which are initiated from within a netmail ... I think.

    US gun laws?

If I were to emigrate to the US right now (and live in Montana), I'd have a gun ... maybe more than one ...

US gun laws are not explained in just a few words ...

    I've been playing a bit with D'Bridge and Freq-U.
I managed to make it work, though I had to edit DBRIDGE.BNK and change:

    domain fidonet DATA/FIDONET 2

    to:

    domain fidonet C:/DB/DATA/FIDONET 2

With the default, non-absolute path, Freq-U stopped with an error.

The problem is that DB will generate DBRIDGE.BNK again and the change will be lost.

Another option is just putting Freq-U and its config file in the C:\DB directory. This way relative path is not a problem.

    Good stuff.

That's a handy utility for nodes who want to make their filebase requestable.
